Customer Service Hell

I decided on Sunday that paying for Office Depot’s Brand Performance Protection Plan for my HP Pavillion was not the wisest decision I ever made. One of my buttons broke off and it was hell just to get a claim approved. Funny thing is when I had the same issue with my iBook, Apple quickly replaced my keyboard. When I called back to request for a different UPS label since I moved, the Customer Service Rep told me to scratch out my old address. When I called UPS to confirm if this was ok, they told me it wasn’t. To top it off, my battery suddenly died. Unsurprisingly, batteries are not covered under this plan. Go figure.

Anyways, in the spirit of customer service hell, here’s a video that brings it all home. If you’ve never heard the term “Dell Hell” before, you’re about to experience it now. Funny video and a true story. Enjoy!

I recently got an HP and oh my lord, their customer service ranks in some of the WORST ever. Not only do I have one, but three HP computers, all which have given me problems and finding someone useful in the company has been pure torture to say the least. Hi Kevin. Actually HP customer service was pretty good, that's what I had when I first purchased my laptop. However instead of purchasing an extended warranty through them I mistakingly chose the Office Depot Brand Performance Plan since it was cheap - big mistake. I guess you get you pay for. So no worries, I think your girl will be just fine with her shiny new HP. :)

lol. Funny video. So, did I understand that correctly, you had no problems with customer service when dealing with Apple, but HP is giving you hell? :( That sucks. I just ordered my GF an HP so now I am concerned about those issues. :(

Jason and Barbara - Thanks for your comments. Barbara, I'm starting to agree. My HP is fairly new (sorta, less then 2 years old) so I will try to keep patching it together as long as possible. But yeah, fixing electronics does seem futile when you consider the cost. As for the video, I was vising Christina's blog and she posted it. It had me cracking up, so I thought I'd share it with y'all since it seems to fit my situation. :)

Hi Natasha, That video was funny. Where did you ever find that at? As far as electronic are concerned, I'm beginning to believe they should all be considered as "throw aways". It seems to cost more to fix them, than it does to buy a new one. Barbara Swafford's last blog post..Bloggers Embark On A Lonely Journey
