A Video for you and a Brief Update

by Natasha

I just got back from a Living on Live Food Chef Certification Class and it was awesome! The food was so yummy and I learned a lot. My teacher was Stacey Weckstein from radiantmindandbody.com. Be sure to check her site out.

In other news, I am still working on a new look and feel for Natasha’s World, but it’s going to take a little longer then I thought since I’ve hit a semi-designer’s block. As I work a few things out here’s a little entertainment for you. I first saw this video over at Jia’s and I knew I had to share it with y’all. I must warn you, there is profanity in this video and the reenactment that the boy is doing may be a bit disturbing to some of you. But this is reality and you have to admit that this kid is a great actor. Let me know what you think.

Truth is we don’t know what the reality is for that child, we can only speculate. And while the movie “Training Day” was a fiction, crooked cops like the character Denzel played still exist everywhere. I hope for that boy sake that the energy he expresses in this video is used in some positive way, like maybe him becoming an actor or something. I’m a firm believer that our environment don’t determine who we grow up to be, and I speak from experience.

I can agree with that. Kids do need an outlet. That is another way of viewing it. Still disturbing as you’ve agreed. But, i have to say that watching this is more disturbing than “Training Day”. I understand that the situations illustrated in “Training Day” could be/is reality. But, it was still fiction. Denzel went home after making the movie and all was well. This is most likely not the case for the child in this video.

Heya Z, I admit that it is sad that this boy had to witness something like this. At the same time, I am for all forms of self expression. I have seen too many kids (me included) grow up in environments where we had almost no outlets to release negative energy that build up from having to live through these types of scenarios. Thank goodness, I was able to eventually learn how to release and express myself through various forms of art . This boy is releasing by acting out what he saw on video. Is watching this video more disturbing then watching a movie like “Training Day” with Denzel Washington? Maybe, or maybe not. I ‘ll let you be the judge.

This is extremely disturbing and sad. Like you said, you know this child has witnessed this whole scene. Unfortunately, it’s things like this that shape the minds of the future leaders and contributors of our world. What’s even sadder is that this is not uncommon. It’s to the point that some will even view it as normal. So, much to be done. . .
