It’s been a while since I wrote anything on both my blog or uploaded a video on my YouTube channel. In a future post, I may share why. For now, I’d like to share an important message from Spirit that I received yesterday. Before I begin, I must admit that I haven’t been using my tarot cards much lately. So, when I woke up Sunday morning and saw this clear image of the Judgment card, it surprised me. Then I started downloading the following message and it all made sense:

*****************************

Collectively, humanity is going through what can be described as a Judgment Phase. From a Christian perspective, you’re reaping what you’ve sowed. From a Buddhist perspective, you’re experiencing karmic retribution.

The purpose of the quarantine was to allow the planet to heal from all the damage that was caused by humanity. However, instead of being good stewards to the earth, you decided to reopen and go right back to polluting the land and bodies of water. Since the warnings were ignored, you experienced death and destruction. If you stay on your current path, then more is coming. The many who’ve died so far was the first wave. The second wave has the potential to be far worse.

However, all hope is not lost. If you choose a better path today, you won’t be as affected by this next wave. Here are some things you can start doing:

Take Better Care of the Planet

Stop polluting the earth and water with chemicals and trash.

Recycle when possible and use recyclable products.

Support industries with a smaller carbon footprint.

Support small local farms. Choose organic when possible.

If animal products are consumed, then choose ones that are wild-caught, pasture-raised, or grass-fed.

Strengthen the Immune System

Include plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds (preferably organic) in the diet

Drink plenty of clean water. Choose alkaline, spring, or distilled water with added minerals.

Use herbs and supplements as needed. Some good choices are food-based multi-vitamin, vitamin C, vitamin D3, elderberry, colloidal silver, turmeric, cod liver oil (if not vegan), etc.

Replace table salt with Himalayan Sea salt or Celtic Salt.

If not vegans, ensure that 80% or more of your animal protein is wild-caught, pasture-raised, or grass-fed.

Eliminate Toxic Energy from the Environment

Remove toxic relationships or things from your life

Reduce stress as much as possible

Surround yourself with kindred spirits who support and uplift you

Spend time daily focusing on things you’re grateful for

Spend time daily focusing on your prayers and wishes as if you’ve already received them.

Spend time daily doing things that make you happy or laugh.

*****************************

My take:

While wearing masks and washing our hands may help, there’s so much more we can do to prepare for what’s coming. Be safe friends and family. May we all get to the end of this phase with ease. Blessings to you.

Dear Friends and Fam,

As many of you may know, I’m a firm believer that incorporating lot’s of fresh fruits and veggies in your diet will keep your immune system strong. Sadly many times we either don’t eat enough of these healing foods or our immune systems still need a little extra boost. In cases like this, the following steps usually work for me. The steps regarding the vitamins are also useful before getting sick if implemented when there’s a bug going around.

I always keep a supply of the dynamic trio – Zinc, Echinacea and Vitamin C. I take these three in addition to a multivitamin once a day until the cold or flu goes away. I also always take these three with the soup mentioned in the next step. The minute I start to feel under the weather, I either make or buy some Veggie soup without noodles or pasteurized dairy or MSG. I do add some spices and make sure it has enough natural sodium from sea salt to make the soup act as saline solution to help loosen up phlegm. As for wheat and pasteurized dairy products, I find that they can causes excessive mucous (sorry if this is TMI). MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) can cause reactions known as MSG symptom complex which include headaches, facial pressure, numbness etc. For more information on this, visit – MSG Symptom Complex – Chinese Restaurant Syndrome. No one needs those complication when trying to heal from a cold/flu.

Before drinking/serving the soup, I like to crush fresh garlic into it. Garlic is a powerful natural antibiotic and antioxidant and works wonders for me. I’ve also become a fan of organic turmeric which has natural anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties. Be sure to pair it with black or white pepper since it helps with absorption.

For sore throat, I like to gargle with warm sea salt water in addition to the steps above.

For both colds and flus, rest and plenty of fluids are a definite requirement.

With these steps together, I am usually able to knock out a cold within a matter of a few days and have also had success with the flu. Please keep in mind that these are steps that work for me. Everyone is different so please take that into consideration should you decide to try out these steps for yourself. For example, if you’re allergic to garlic, then use wisdom and skip it and try only turmeric.

To your health and mine ;).

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about unconditional love. I’ve come to realize that I can only love others unconditionally if I first love myself in that way. When you think about it, does it not make sense?

Imagine trying to accept others for who they are while being highly critical and judgmental of yourself…

Imagine trying to be compassionate with others while beating yourself up every time you make a mistake…

Imagine trying to forgive others while never forgiving yourself…

Difficult isn’t it?

So with that, I also started thinking about what unconditional love means to me – like how I would define it based on my experiences. Here’s my take:

Unconditional love is love in its highest and purest form, where there is no fear, no judgment and no unrealistic expectations
This kind of love heals and uplifts
This kind of love is given freely, even when it’s not deserved
This kind of love surpasses all understanding
This kind of love never fails

I wonder what the world would be like if everyone loved like this… Would that leave room for breakups? Maybe it does… Since as humans we are constantly growing and evolving, maybe it’s possible for 2 people to deeply love each other and yet grow apart. I imagine they would amicably part ways while having deep appreciation and gratitude for the moments shared.

Heck, I imagine that this can also apply to other types of relationships as well. To be able to have differing opinions on things and simply agree to disagree with no hard feelings… Hmm, what a concept…

I imagine in a world where people loved like this there would be no need for wars. Countries would celebrate each other’s differences and have peaceful exchanges between each other. Poverty would most likely not exist. Governments, loving their peoples unconditionally, would see to it that all resources are fairly distributed and that all needs are met.

Taking it to the next level, I also imagine that people who love unconditionally would take greater responsibility for their environment. I don’t believe it would be necessary for all people to become vegans (though that would be great for the animals – one less predator to worry about), but I imagine that people would treat animals and the earth with more respect. Even in nature, I believe animals are born knowing that they are either predators or preys. Yet, I imagine there exist a certain level of respect between the animals. It’s like an unspoken understanding that it’s not personal, only survival.

Wow, in all my imaginings, I forgot that I have to get to work. My bosses have been extremely awesome to me and I have every determination to keep reciprocating the same level of awesomeness back to them.

Anyhow, this been my take on unconditional love. Anyone care to join me in putting this into practice?

Below, you’ll find the video for where the song is used, but before you check it out, I leave with the English translation of the poem used for the song. Enjoy.

Stream of Life
by Rabindranath Tagore

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

——————————–

From Angela Stokes’s Blog
——————————–

Are you familiar with the world of ‘RawBabyAlex’ and mum Melissa Gilbert? If not, Melissa has been documenting her raw food baby’s progress online for quite some time and it makes fascinating reading – especially for anyone interested in raising kids raw. Melissa has actually compiled two wonderful e-books of all the different recipes that Alex has loved as he’s been growing up, from baby foods to toddler treats. (He is such a healthy big boy now that his blog has actually been moved along to ‘Raw ToddlerAlex’ Melissa also keeps her own lovely blog at RawMom.blogspot.com, as well as writing regularly for the info-packed raw magazine Pear.

Unfortunately, this amazing little raw family are having some pretty challenging times at present…in February they were burgled and all their possessions were taken. They moved house and even state, only to discover that they cannot find work in their new location and that very soon they will likely be homeless. They are in a time of crisis. On her most recent blog, Melissa writes that she visited the local food bank to try to get something to eat. They had no raw foods, except 5 bunches of celery, which they gave her. When she got home however, she realised they were almost totally rotten and unusable. Melissa is an incredible mother and gives tirelessly and with so much love to the raw community through her writings. I would feel so sad to see this amazing young family living out in the scorching Arizona desert in a tent with seemingly nowhere left to turn. They really could use some support right now – this is an opportunity to help out an incredible raw family. Instead of just asking people to donate money to help them with their situation however, I’d love to recommend that you invest in Melissa’s 2 fabulous ebooks – ‘Sunsational Raw Baby Food’ and ‘Sun-Sational Smoothies’. They are just $10 each, available from her site HERE. Imagine the difference $20 could make to a family that is in dire straits right now…and YOU get smthg wonderful too – two recipe books packed with tried-and-tested recipes I sincerely hope the raw food community will reach out and support this loving family unit in their time of need…please feel free to re-post this message and pass it along to others in the raw food community too…and enjoy the recipes

(P.S. If you DO feel moved to simply send a donation to the family, their Paypal email address is loverawlife@gmail.com)

Have you ever felt so tired when you get home from work that the thought of typing made you cringe? Well, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately, hence why I haven’t been posting much. So, while I deal with my energy crisis, I’ll share with you a cute story my friend emailed me. Don’t worry, there are no politics or negativity in this post, just funniness . Enjoy.

————–

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident. Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of “tea”, which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was “just the cutest thing!”. My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up. Then she says, “Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet?”

*************

Question 1:

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates. Who would you vote for?

Candidate A

He’s had two mistresses

He also chain smokes

Drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day

He was kicked out of office twice

Sleeps until noon

Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

<!--
var collapse1=new animatedcollapse("answer1", 500, false)

Pretty interesting isn’t it?

Remember:

Amateurs…built the ark.
Professionals…built the Titanic.

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

29 have been accused of spousal abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

19 have been accused of writing bad checks

It’s the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

If you found this post interesting, great! Simply click on the “ShareThis” link below and pass it on.

Update: As I mentioned earlier, this post is based on an email that was sent to me, and I found the message so timely that I quickly posted it. It was pointed out to me today that some of the facts maybe inaccurate, so I did some research and decided to remove one of the questions. As for the stats, to be honest I’m not sure where they came from. However, Congress is made up of imperfect people, and that’s the whole point. Nonetheless, what’s important is the message behind this post. Thanks for reading.

THE WORLD’S SHORTEST FAIRYTALE

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl “Will you marry me?”

The girl said: “NO!”. And the girl lived happily ever-after and went shopping, dancing, camping, always had a clean house, never cooked, did whatever the hell she wanted, never argued, didn’t gain weight, traveled more, had fun going on dates, had plenty of money, and had all the hot water to herself. She went to the movies, never had to watch sports, never wore friggin’ lacy lingerie that went up her butt crack, had high self esteem, never cried or yelled, felt and looked fabulous in sweat pants and was pleasant all the time.

The End

I noticed that every single time I’ve decided to start a detox or new fitness regime, my reason were always something like me wanting to look so good that I turn heads, or because I want attract the man of my dream, etc. Never has my reason been purely for the sake of doing something good for my body. Imagine that… to desire to be in the best health/fitness level possible simply because I love myself… What a concept.

————–

I was reading a post by Dhrumil on the “We Like it Raw” blog where he featured the video of Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke experience. I thought it was so inspiring that I’ve decided to post it here. If you have about 20 minutes to spare, then I invite you to kick back, relax and enjoy.

I decided on Sunday that paying for Office Depot’s Brand Performance Protection Plan for my HP Pavillion was not the wisest decision I ever made. One of my buttons broke off and it was hell just to get a claim approved. Funny thing is when I had the same issue with my iBook, Apple quickly replaced my keyboard. When I called back to request for a different UPS label since I moved, the Customer Service Rep told me to scratch out my old address. When I called UPS to confirm if this was ok, they told me it wasn’t. To top it off, my battery suddenly died. Unsurprisingly, batteries are not covered under this plan. Go figure.

Anyways, in the spirit of customer service hell, here’s a video that brings it all home. If you’ve never heard the term “Dell Hell” before, you’re about to experience it now. Funny video and a true story. Enjoy!

Ok, I have a confession to make…. I fell off the 7 Day Detox wagon hardcore. I’m going to continue to do raw days , maybe 2 at a time with breaks in between. I did really well from Sunday night 6pm until last night 6pm, then it all went downhill from there. I was on the way to the nursing home to see mom, hungry as heck, then I thought to myself, “This is ridiculous!”. So off to Panda express I went, but I did good (considering it was cooked). I got mixed veggies as a side, string bean chicken and mandarin chicken for entres. However, I can’t totally give my self a pat on the back… I made a snack stop at Target and got me some Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, Organic Salsa and Macademia Nut Corn Clusters. I know, I know…

So I arrive at the nursing home, feeling stuffed from all my newly bought treats. Moments later, I was told that one of my mom’s roommates at the nursing home decided to have doctors take her off the ventilator. She was the only resident, aside from my mom, that I got close to since I used to call her sons for her all the time. The news of this hit me pretty hard, and I was up late munching… I am such an emotional eater. But as sad as it made me, I totally understand why she would decide to let go. She was suffering a lot and to make it worse, she was completely aware and lucid. There’s only so much a person can go through. I don’t know if she’s still here, but I plan on calling her sons to find out later today.

Well, I better get going. I’m taking a break from the detox today, but will try again tomorrow. Have a blessed day and try to stay in the present.

It seems that lately I have only been able to update this blog about once a week. I would love to be able to blog daily like Jia, but I haven’t figured out how to work that into my schedule. In addition, what the heck would I write about if I were to post everyday? I guess I could write about my day and what I did, but do you really want to read about things like what I ate for breakfast?

Anyways, me and my brother finally moved into our new place and I spent the whole weekend unpacking and cleaning. I can’t even begin to describe how tired I am. I should have gone to bed early last night, but sorta neglected to do laundry during the daytime hours. I was up until almost 2am as a result.. *sigh*

Just before writing this post, I decided to watch some news and heard about this messed up six car collision. The accident was caused by a woman who was driving with a buddy of hers, while they were smoking crack. She crashed head on into an SUV with a mother and her 2 children. The mother’s car ended up flipping upside down.

Now, an accident like this sounds pretty tragic as is. You would think that it couldn’t possibly get any worse, right? Wrong. While the mother and her kids were dangling upside down in a totaled SUV, some neighbors decided that it would be a cool idea to rob her. Yes, you heard right… they reached into the SUV and stole the woman’s purse. What is the world coming to?

A few minutes after hearing about that story, another one caught my attention. This one woman is frustrated that the case concerning her 12 years-old son is moving a bit too quick. Her son was put in juvenile detention 5 weeks ago after beating his 17 month-old cousin to death with a baseball bat. When asked why, he reportedly tells officers that she was bothering him while he was watching cartoons…

OK… um… I’m confused. Where was his mother while this little girl was being beaten to death? Isn’t this some form of child neglect?

And people wonder why I don’t like to watch the news.

I was catching up on some email , when a thought flashed through my mind. I realized how little I share about my daily life on this blog. There is so much going on in my life right now, and I never really considered writing about it. So, I’ve decided to crack the door open and allow you a greater glimpse into my world.

At this moment, I am taking a quick break from packing to eat some oatmeal. Me and my brother are moving and have to be out of this apartment by tomorrow. I have to do as much as I can today because in the morning, I go to work. Thank God that my bro and I have opposite schedules. While I’m at work, him and his buddies can finish moving and doing whatever else needs to be done.

As for my job, I just started working as an HTML Developer 3 weeks ago. This is my first time working with a design team. At most of my previous jobs, I was either freelancing or taking on the responsibility of an entire design department. Now, I work with men and women who know as much, if not more then me, which is challenging and cool at the same time.

The 2 most challenging aspects of working on a team is learning to be patient and learning to leave my ego at home. As far as patience goes, I am used to working in environments where I have more control over when things happen and how they happen. Now, I have to learn to wait on my fellow team members to do their jobs… so I am constantly reminding myself of one of my favorite quotes:

“Patience is a tree whose roots are bitter, but its fruits are very sweet.” -Anonymous

Leaving my ego at home is even tougher. For a long time, I worked in a state of always having to defend my intelligence and skills. At my previous job for example, I often felt like I was hired to meet an affirmative action quota. The worst type of insults, in my opinion, are the subtle ones. The one where your intelligence is often being indirectly questioned. The one where your peers are surprised when you do your job well (noticed I said surprised and not impressed – huge difference). The one where you’re hired as a salary employee who is expected to put in more then 40 hours, but treated like a micromanaged hourly employee. Funny thing is that the whole time I worked there, I never saw anyone else but the interns be asked to fill out a form every time they were late. And before you think that I was slacking, 99% of my reasons for being late were a transportation issues or sickness. In addition, whenever I was late or had to miss a day, I always made up for the time by working through my lunches and doing extra work from home. I guess it wasn’t enough.

So as far as egos go, I am realizing that on a team there is no room for it. I have to be willing to take constructive criticism and to learn from others. There is also no need to be on the defensive. I’m finding that I have as good of a chance to grow and succeed as anyone else. I am not treated like the town idiot, but instead am considered an equal citizen with a voice. I can get used to this.

Anyhow, I must get back to packing. Thanks for taking a glimpse into my world.
