Arte y Pico AwardTo start off, I would like to thank my buddy Zenobia for nominating my site for the
Arte y Pico Award. There are some rules that I’m supposed to follow, where I list other bloggers I want to give the award to, and they’re supposed to do the same, blah blah. Z is going to kill me for saying this, but doesn’t that sound like too much work? Instead, I would like to declare that all the folks on my Favorites list get an award because they’re cool. Yeah, I know I’m changing the rules, but this is Natasha’s World and I can do that. Congrats everyone!!

(Disclaimer: This new declaration is not applicable outside of natashasworld.com. Any attempts to use this declaration is done at your own risk.)

I promise you there is a method to my madness. I know it may appear that I haven’t been updating this blog often, but it is all an illusion. You are in a dream state, and things are not as they seem…

Ok, to be real, I needed to take a brief hiatus from this site. Before I go any further, I would like to take a few seconds to give my blog a quick hug for neglecting it for the past couple of weeks:

*~HUGS NATASHA’S WORLD BLOG TIGHT*~

As I was saying, I was dealing with some serious designer block issues (amongst other things), to the point where I was considering going back to farming. If you’re confused as to what farming has to do with anything, check out my Tagged video for more info.

Anyhow, after months of staring at a blank Photoshop canvas, I was starting to get desperate. I work as an HTML Developer who also needs to be able to design. No Design could mean No Pay. The moment that I decided that I would do anything to get my creative juices flowing again, God stepped in and I recieved an email from Shawn Casey regarding Justin Blake’s Manifestation Meditation Tool. At first it flipped me out a bit because he started talking about how it could be alien technology. But then I was like, “Natasha, who are you kidding? Aren’t you the same one that believes in the possibility that humans may be half monkey, half alien? Pulease!” Yeah, I know….

So out of desperation and the fact that it comes with a 6 month money back guarantee, I decided to give Manifestation Meditation a shot. The experience was very relaxing and I fell asleep. After I woke up, I felt rested but wasn’t sure if it worked. I then sat in front of my computer and started up Photoshop…

Would you believe me if I told you that the same night I was able to create a new header and template for my site? It was the most progress I’ve had in months. Maybe it was a placebo affect, but who cares… something worked!! I can’t wait to try it out on some other stuff to see what happens. If you want more information, click here. If you should decide to try it, please let me know your results.

Lastly, I haven’t abandoned my weight loss efforts. I have been in a secret little competition that I will write about more in future post. Cool things are happening behind the scenes, and a new layout is finally under way. Stay tuned and have a blessed day!

I just got back from a Living on Live Food Chef Certification Class and it was awesome! The food was so yummy and I learned a lot. My teacher was Stacey Weckstein from radiantmindandbody.com. Be sure to check her site out.

In other news, I am still working on a new look and feel for Natasha’s World, but it’s going to take a little longer then I thought since I’ve hit a semi-designer’s block. As I work a few things out here’s a little entertainment for you. I first saw this video over at Jia’s and I knew I had to share it with y’all. I must warn you, there is profanity in this video and the reenactment that the boy is doing may be a bit disturbing to some of you. But this is reality and you have to admit that this kid is a great actor. Let me know what you think.

Just a quick note to remind everyone that although my last couple of post have been on politics, natashasword.com is not a political blog at all. If you don’t believe me, check out the categories to see the different topis that I’ve written about.

However, since we’re on the topic of politics,

CONGRATULATIONS SENATOR BARACK OBAMA, YOU RAWK!!!!

Yesterday was an historical day, and I am grateful that me and my family are here to witness it. When I first announced that I was supporting Senator Obama, this was my main reason:

We no longer have to look to entertainers who have no clue what it means to be a good example as role models for success. Change is here. Everytime you start to forget how much you can achieve, go to Google.com and type Barack Obama.

June 3rd, 2008 confirmed it.

In other news, natashasworld.com will soon be getting a complete facelift. I’m working on a new template and will be adding a couple of new sections. Stay tuned!

If you have been following the news, you may have already heard about Senator Hillary Clinton’s comment in regards to Senator Barack Obama and the JFK Assassination. If not, here’s a Special commentary on this topic by Keith Olbermann:

Regardless of what anyone says, I have a hard time believing that Hillary’s comment was innocent and that she didn’t mean to imply an ill fate for Obama.

Then, just when you think it can’t get any worse, Liz Trotta from Fox News makes one of the most appalling comment I’ve heard since this election started:

She later offers the following apology, but it’s a little too late. No apology can excuse such a comment…

I pray that God looks over Obama and his Family.

The following post touched me and so I’ve decided to repost it here. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.

Are you familiar with the world of ‘RawBabyAlex’ and mum Melissa Gilbert? If not, Melissa has been documenting her raw food baby’s progress online for quite some time and it makes fascinating reading – especially for anyone interested in raising kids raw. Melissa has actually compiled two wonderful e-books of all the different recipes that Alex has loved as he’s been growing up, from baby foods to toddler treats. (He is such a healthy big boy now that his blog has actually been moved along to ‘Raw ToddlerAlex’ ;) Melissa also keeps her own lovely blog at RawMom.blogspot.com, as well as writing regularly for the info-packed raw magazine Pear.

Unfortunately, this amazing little raw family are having some pretty challenging times at present…in February they were burgled and all their possessions were taken. They moved house and even state, only to discover that they cannot find work in their new location and that very soon they will likely be homeless. They are in a time of crisis. On her most recent blog, Melissa writes that she visited the local food bank to try to get something to eat. They had no raw foods, except 5 bunches of celery, which they gave her. When she got home however, she realised they were almost totally rotten and unusable. Melissa is an incredible mother and gives tirelessly and with so much love to the raw community through her writings. I would feel so sad to see this amazing young family living out in the scorching Arizona desert in a tent with seemingly nowhere left to turn. They really could use some support right now - this is an opportunity to help out an incredible raw family. Instead of just asking people to donate money to help them with their situation however, I’d love to recommend that you invest in Melissa’s 2 fabulous ebooks – ‘Sunsational Raw Baby Food’ and ‘Sun-Sational Smoothies’. They are just $10 each, available from her site HERE. Imagine the difference $20 could make to a family that is in dire straits right now…and YOU get smthg wonderful too – two recipe books packed with tried-and-tested recipes ;) I sincerely hope the raw food community will reach out and support this loving family unit in their time of need…please feel free to re-post this message and pass it along to others in the raw food community too…and enjoy the recipes ;)

(P.S. If you DO feel moved to simply send a donation to the family, their Paypal email address is loverawlife@gmail.com)

For the past few weeks, I have silently observed quite a few things that made me sad. Maybe others don’t see what I see and that’s fine by me. Nonetheless, today I will share 2 of these things with the world. I will not quote any statistics, I will only state what I see… take it or leave it.

1. Obama May be in Danger

There is a lot of concern among African Americans that Senator Barack Obama’s fate may be the same as John F. Kennedy’s or Martin Luther King’s. Personally, I believe that all candidates risk their lives and those of their loved ones when they decide to run for office, but this isn’t the danger that I see. Obama has proven time and again that he is both a gentlemen and a man of integrity. Unfortunately, in politics that level of integrity will be tested. I see that Obama is in danger of becoming like any typical politician if he forgets his original reason for desiring to be President of the U.S. Typical politicians tend to forget that being in office is all about the people and not about them. I pray that Obama never forgets.

2. Hilary May be in Danger

Bill Clinton was a good President. During his years in office, the economy was good and our relationship across the border was as good as it could be considering the times. However, he is not the one running for office, Senator Hilary Clinton is. In case anyone hasn’t noticed, Hilary and Bill are 2 completely different people with different ideas on what’s best for the U.S. So what does this have to do with Hilary being in danger you ask? I fear for her soul. Keep reading.

I don’t consider myself a religious, but I truly respect the Bible. Since Hilary recently quoted scripture, then I have to ask this question, quoting Jesus himself, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” (Luke 9: 26) Is the hope of winning a contest worth splitting up a democratic party? It is no coincidence that over 50% of Clinton supporters would rather not vote or vote for McCain if she is not the Democratic candidate. “For each tree is known by its own fruit.” (Luke 6:44). “For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.” (Luke 6:43). To have supporters that care more for getting what they want then for democratic party is a testimony to the type of campaign that she has been running. Also, is this not one way to attempt to force the hand of the superdelegates? I pray that Hilary will stop and contemplate what she has done and what she is about to do… My question to Hilary is: Are you sure this contest is worth forfeiting your very self?

I see so much more, but I have somewhere to be right now. My intentions are not to offend anyone, this is simply what I see.

I was really trying not to get into too much politics and governmental issues on my blog, but to heck with it. I was chillin’ with Mom the other night when Keith Olbermann from MSNBC did a commentary on George Bush. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, I’ve included both parts below. I encourage you to watch this, especially if you support Bush and his policies. Olbermann spoke the truth, and it is exactly what everyone needs to hear.
